5 stepsI shattered my spine in 2011 & was unable to perform any type of work. It was said to be a ‘miracle’ that I was able to stand & walk on my own. – Anthony C., Raleigh, NC

Recovery was excruciating & took a long time. Nearly 2 years before I could even leave my home on my own. Obviously out of work, as I was a welder & shop foreman, there was no way I could return to work. I had doctors/surgeons filling out paperwork for me to help me get disability, I immediately filed my application to get the long process going. I knew I had to hire an attorney so I chose a large firm well known probably due to the massive advertisements they air. This company, claimed to have the most successful practice for disability in the country. I made an appointment & went to an office where I had a meeting with the attorney appointed to my case. Already being well ahead, filing my application, getting first denial, immediately filing a reconsideration form, the attorney was very pleased & told me this would be a very easy case & I had absolutely nothing to worry about. I would be approved in no time & all would be fine. Well, I wouldn’t hear from my attorney at all & when I called I never got to speak with her, nor would I get a call back. After several times of this occurring I went to the office to speak with the attorney only to be told she had forgotten to ever turn in the required paperwork so social security had no record of me following through on my disability case! What’s worse is there is a time limit in which your case is terminated when that time lapses. I was very near that point. The attorney blamed me for her immense mistake & said she could start over again. Feeling very neglected, I fired the attorney & researched for a new representative. I found Kim Engler & called. After explaining what happened to me, Kim had me meet her for coffee & asked me to bring what paperwork I had. After a brief discussion of my injury & the disaster with the prior attorney, Kim said she would take my case.
Kim stayed in contact with me through every step she took & kept me very informed. Kim Engler got my benefits approved within 3 months! I’m not saying that happens every time but I know without a doubt she did everything she could to help me get approved & did so in a very expedient manner all while keeping me well informed. I could not have been in better hands & that I am 100% confident in saying. I would use Ms. Engler again without looking for another.
